Very interesting. Thinking back over American history, I was wondering if you believe Pres. Eisenhower was way out of line in sending troops into Little Rock, Arkansas during the whole Little Rock High fiasco?
The events that took place at Little Rock High in 1957 demonstrate how out of order this nation was and is on every level. The U.S. Supreme Court had no authority to legislate from the bench regarding anything to do with education. Education is a state issue, not a federal issue. The disgraceful Governor of Arkansas violated his solemn oath to defend the rights of all Arkansas citizens, including the “Little Rock Nine”, when he ordered the National Guard to stop those students from entering that school.
President Eisenhower was not allowed to use Army troops on domestic soil against American citizens. The term “National Guard” is a contradiction because it is under state authority, not federal. It should be referred to as the “State Guard”. The County Sheriff failed to do his duty. He had the authority to arrest all of those state and federal law breakers once they set foot in his jurisdiction.
You may be trying to say that President Eisenhower came in and saved the day, but a dozen wrongs don’t make right. He broke the law trying to solve the problem just as much as the racists in Arkansas who started it. The most glaring lesson we can learn from that incident is that “We The People” have forsaken our duty as citizens for over 100 years. “We The People” must wake up and re-establish the proper lawful order in our country.
Every County needs to elect a true Constitutional Sheriff. Every church needs to shake off its fear and passivity and return to the place of prominence that the “Church” held at the founding of this great nation. Every citizen needs to engage in the process to promote and defend the principles and values upon which America was established and ordained by divine providence.
The egregious wrongs that were committed at Little Rock High have been committed over and over again. At Ruby Ridge. At Waco. In Nevada, Arizona and Wyoming. In the halls of Congress, crimes are committed and laws are disregarded with impunity. In our courts, people have there Constitutional rights trampled on every day. It has been about 53 years since the Little Rock Nine tried to enter that school. We still have a long way to go before we can accurately say, “We have overcome”.
